Grand Hotel features 385 uniquely decorated guest rooms and also has the longest porch in the world. Afternoon Tea is offered each day and meals-which are included in the rate-are served in our Main Dining Room. Mackinac Island does not allow motorized vehicles-bicycles and horse and carriage carry guest around the island. The movie Somewhere in Time was filmed at Grand Hotel starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve. We are a Stay Safe hotel. Commercial air service is available daily from Northwest Airlink through Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Air service is also available to Traverse City, Michigan, located approximately one-and-a-half hours southwest of Mackinaw City. ## Directions by Air: (N) COMMERCIAL AIRLINESMackinac Island is served by the Pellston, Michigan Airport located 12 miles south of Mackinaw City. The airport is located just one mile from Grand Hotel. Horse-drawn taxi service from the airport to Grand Hotel and return is readily available. ## By Ferry: (N) To Mackinac Island can be accessed by driving to Mackinac City (on Michigan´s lower peninsula) or St Ignace (upper peninsula).
