Cleverly designed so that every single bedroom enjoys spectacular ocean views, the hotel’s 265 spacious apartments and 13 suites are arranged over 12 floors, and have all been recently refurbished.

A mixture of dark wood fittings with light, cane furniture, tiled floors and bright fabrics combine to create a relaxed and airy feel. All 278 rooms have balconies and offer spectacular views of the ocean and Ondina Beach. In addition, all rooms are fully-air conditioned and come with broadband internet access, telephone with voice mail, cable television with international channels, magnetic door locks, minibar, digital safe, hairdryer, laundry and 24-hour room service. Non-smoking rooms are available. Located on the top floor of the hotel, the newly designed Executive Floor offers rooms with personal computers, fax machines and free internet access. In addition, the executive lounge offers a complimentary breakfast in the morning and cocktails and canapés in the evening.

Three restaurants, two bars and 24-hour room service offer a choice of Brazilian, Japanese and international cuisine. Floor to ceiling windows in the Lampião Restaurant offer unbeatable panoramic views across the ocean as you enjoy your sumptuous buffet breakfast.

The vast array of fresh fruits and freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries will amaze you. As the day progresses, and the light changes, so does the atmosphere in the restaurant as it serves regional specialities and international favorites for lunch and then dinner.

The more intimate Porto das Nações Restaurant serves some of the most interesting local specialities for which the Bahia region is renowned. Spicy seafood dishes, using typically African ingredients and techniques, will delight the palate and entrance the senses. For a different flavour altogether, sample the fun in the Berimbau Sushi Bar serving sushi and Japanese cuisine.

Cool neon blue lights, aquariums in the wall and the flashing blade of the chef’s knife as he prepares the dishes in front of your table create a unique and entertaining atmosphere. The Lobby Bar is open all day for coffee, snacks and cocktails, and features live music every evening. The Poolside Bar offers light meals and drinks throughout the day with amazing sea views. Enjoy the last of the day’s sun as you sip a cocktail and watch the sun dip behind the vast horizon in front of you.

Room Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Lampiao Restaurant is open daily for breakfast from 06.00 to 10.00. Lunch and dinner are served from 12.00 to 24.00. Porto Das Nacoes is open daily serving lunch and dinner from 12.00 to 24.00. Berimbau Sushi Bar serves dinner from 19.00 to 01.00 every day except Sundays.

Renowned for its exceptional meeting and event facilities, the Bahia Othon Palace boasts one of Brazil’s largest convention centers.

Twelve function rooms can accommodate up to 2,500 people. The hotel’s largest exhibition hall has a total area of 900 square metres. In addition to the indoor rooms, the landscaped outdoor “green area” has a further total area of 1,200 square metres and regularly hosts extravagant parties and shows for up to 3,000 guests.

As you would expect from such a large conference centre, the technical equipment available is state-of-the art and is backed up by a highly professional team of staff. With many years of experience between them, the staff is able to offer a wide range of innovative themed menus, coffee breaks, cocktails and entertainment ideas.

The dedicated Business Center is on-hand to assist meeting organizers with all their administrative needs. Ground Floor: The Salao Itapoan, divides into three separate rooms. Its large windows give plenty of natural light and stunning sea views.

Two smaller rooms are ideal for breakout groups or small meetings. Salao Pelourinho comprises four separate rooms which can be joined together in pairs. First Floor: Salao Ondina (688 m2) can be divided into three sections and has its own large foyer (178 m2). The vast Exhibition Hall (900 m2) is ideal for large exhibitions with many stands, and has its own separate entrance from outside the hotel.

The Bahia Othon Palace is popular with business travellers who want to be near the city center but prefer to retire at night to Ondina where there is a great choice of entertainment, restaurants and nightlife. The hotel offers a fully-operational Business Center, complete with computers, wi-fi and broadband internet access, printers, fax and photocopying machines, as well as translation and secretarial services. Adjacent to the Lobby Bar, the Cyber Café offers computers for guests to use whilst they enjoy a drink or snack. The modern Convention Center caters for events up to 3,000 people.

The Bahia Othon Palace is located on Avenue Oceânica, at Ondina Beach, an exclusive area just 5km, ten minutes drive from downtown Salvador. Luis Eduardo Magalhaes International Airport (SSA), is 33km (21 miles) north of the hotel.

The 30-minute taxi ride from the airport affords some spectacular views of the coastal scenery. Pelourinho, Salvador’s historic quarter, is 10 minutes drive. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its colourful houses, beautiful baroque churches, museums and cobbled streets, this area promises the visitor a fascinating insight into Bahia’s colonial history and African influence.

The hotel is also close to many excellent shopping malls and upmarket boutiques, as well as many cafes, restaurants, and Rio Vermelho, famous for its buzzing nightlife. Farol da Barra is a five minute drive and Mercado Modelo is a ten minute drive away.
