The Pousada de Viseu is located in central Portugal, in the city of Viseu. It is located in the old Hospital de São Teotónio, one of the oldest hospitals of the city, that opened in 1842 and features views of the historic part of the city. This old hospital was completely reconstructed and adapted by architect Gonçalo Bryrne in 2009. The hospital is an important landmark in the most peaceful city centre in Portugal.

With several possible arrangements and various multi-disciplinary rooms: in the Fontelo room as in the Dom Henrique and Dom Fernando rooms, which, with different entrances and plenty of natural light, can be turned into one single room. You can organize coffee breaks in the cloister and, of course, the old pharmacy and Dom Duarte halls, as well as the Great Hall, can be adapted for your event.

All design elements were chosen by the architect of the project and that attention can be felt by appreciating the seamless way in which everything flows inside your rest room. The beautiful sofas and armchairs with footrests seduce you after a walking tour of the old town, and promise you a resting moment in style and comfort.
The Pousada also offers a restaurant, a bar, a very unique wine room and a cigar Lounge.

Arriving by car
from Lisbon or Porto
Take the highway 1 (A1) until Aveiro and then follow the signs to A25 direction Viseu/Guarda/Espanha. Take that route until the exit number 18 direction Viseu/Nelas/Seia.At the roundabout, take the 4th exit; At the roundabout, Estrada De Nelas, take the 2nd exit and do the same in the 3 next roundabouts and you will see the Pousada de Viseu at your right hand side on Rua do Hospital.
